Meteosat - Indoex disk
EUMETSAT, the European agency responsible for the operation of Meteosat has repositioned Meteosat 5 to a location above the Indian Ocean as part of the European contribution to IndoEx, a scientific programme to examine the Indian Ocean region.

From its orbital location at 63°E, Meteosat 5 images a whole Earth disk that includes part of Africa, the Middle East, Russia, the Indian sub-continent, China, Sout East Asia and Western Australia.

The presence of the Indoex mission provides the completing link for whole Earth imagery from geostationary platforms.
